A keen-eyed Marvel Rivals fan has spotted a potential new character on the roster: Hawkeye. While the game is still months away from its December release, this discovery during Moon Knight's gameplay reveal video has sparked speculation about the bow-wielding hero’s inclusion.
Although Marvel Rivals hasn’t officially launched, some players have already had the chance to test the game during its beta phase, where characters like Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Thor were available. The hero shooter is expected to release with post-launch content, including cosmetics, maps, and new characters—some of which may be fresh faces from the comics. The possibility of Hawkeye joining the lineup surfaced after a recent gameplay reveal of Moon Knight.
Reddit user Noblu8 shared a screenshot from IGN's Marvel Rivals gameplay footage, which appears to show a kill feed indicating Hawkeye's defeat at the hands of the Winter Soldier. The kill feed, resembling the one seen in Overwatch 2, shows the character defeated by another hero, followed by the Winter Soldier being knocked out by the Incredible Hulk. While the image is small, the character in the feed strongly resembles Hawkeye, despite not having been officially announced as part of the roster.
Though some fans believe this inclusion of Hawkeye in the kill feed was accidental, a key detail suggests it might have been intentional. The account name linked to Hawkeye in the kill feed was previously used for Moon Knight during a Marvel Rivals showcase of Psylocke, hinting that the game could be teasing future heroes and villains for fans to discover early. This strategy might build anticipation for the game's official release by piquing players’ curiosity about upcoming characters.
Given Hawkeye's rising popularity, thanks to his appearances in the Avengers films and his Disney+ series, fans are eager to see if he will officially be added to the game. However, until Marvel Rivals is released, this inclusion remains speculative. New characters are often tested before being added, so even if Hawkeye is present in the footage, it may be some time before he becomes playable, especially since the game is still being refined ahead of its December 6 launch.
